A Dental Implant is the optimal solution for anyone who is missing one or more teeth. The Implant System we use can be tailored to different needs so that most patients can get teeth that look and function like natural teeth.
The titanium screws are placed under normal local anaesthetic via sterile ‘key-hole’ surgery. Months later, after the implant is left to heal, the implants may be uncovered using laser surgery. The laboratory then makes the reconstruction to fit the implant. Often CADCAM abutments are used.
Dental implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth, several missing teeth or even all upper and lower dentition. They can also help to stabilize a loose denture. Catherine uses the Astra Tech dental implant system as it is consistently reliable and has extensive scientific data.
Single Dental Implant
This patient lost her upper right first premolar and came to see Mrs Drysdale to discuss what could be done to restore the space. After discussing the various options including a chrome cobalt partial denture, a bridge or a single dental implant, a decision was made that the patient would prefer a dental implant. The space was restored within 3 months of the initial consultation.
Single Dental Implant
After losing her lower right first molar this patient found her chewing was effected and she missed having a tooth in this space. A decision was made to have a single dental implant placed. There is an Atlantis abutment on the implant with a cement retained crown. This treatment restored the patients original chewing function.
Implant Retained Overdenture
After this patient lost their remaining upper teeth. An implant bar was made at the laboratory to support a full upper overdenture.
Dental implants and Emax Crowns
This patient undertook an orthodontic treatment followed by tooth lightening. He then had a dental implant placed and a 3 unit bridge placed to restore his smile.
Implant retained Bridge and Crowns
This patient required their upper anterior and canine teeth to be extracted. Two dental implants were placed in the lateral incisor sites which support a 4 unit bridge. This patient also has implants in both upper canine sites with single implant crowns restoring her smile.
Implant retained bridge
After suffering trauma this patient had to have his upper anterior bridge removed and the roots extracted. Two dental implants were placed and a 5 unit implant retained bridge was constructed to restore the space.
Implant Over Denture and Upper Emax Crowns, Chrome Denture
Full arch fixed implant retained bridge
This patient suffered from periodontal disease which caused 65-70% bone loss around the upper teeth, this resulted in the teeth becoming mobile and un-aesthetic. This patient opted for a full arch fixed implant restoration to replace all upper missing teeth. A lower partial denture was then made.
